What makes Ugandan coffee special?
For some, it’s the flavour. For others, it’s the richness of our soils, the diversity of our growing regions, or the people behind every bean. At KIMCO Coffee, we believe it’s all of these things and more.
Uganda has always been a country with a remarkable coffee story. From the farms where coffee is carefully cultivated to the communities whose livelihoods depend on it, coffee is deeply connected to our land, our people, and our way of life.
Now, Uganda has taken an important step towards telling that story to the world with the launch of its new national coffee brand, “Uganda Coffee – It’s in Our Nature.”
Unveiled on the international stage at World of Coffee Brussels 2026, where Uganda was featured as the Portrait Country, the brand brings together Uganda’s coffee heritage, landscapes, people, and natural environment under one shared identity.
For us, this is about more than a new logo or tagline.
A Story We Can All Share
For years, Ugandan coffee has travelled far beyond our borders. It has found its way into roasteries, cafés, homes, and businesses around the world.
Yet the story of where that coffee comes from has not always been told with one clear and consistent voice.
The national coffee brand creates an opportunity to change that.
“It’s in Our Nature” gives farmers, processors, exporters, roasters, and other players across the coffee value chain a shared identity through which to present Ugandan coffee to the world.
It helps create greater consistency, recognition, and pride around Uganda as a coffee origin.
And that matters.
Because coffee is not simply a commodity. Behind every bag, every shipment, and every cup is a story about a place, a person, and a community.
More Than Coffee. It’s in Our Nature.
At KIMCO Coffee, we believe the strength of Ugandan coffee begins with where it comes from.
It comes from fertile soils and diverse landscapes. It comes from generations of knowledge passed from farmer to farmer. It comes from communities that depend on coffee for their livelihoods and from people who continue to invest their time, energy, and passion into producing better coffee.
That is what makes “It’s in Our Nature” such a meaningful idea.
It reflects something that has always been part of Ugandan coffee: a connection between land, people, culture, and purpose.
The new national brand gives us an opportunity to communicate that connection more clearly to the world.
Building Recognition for Uganda
Great coffee deserves to be recognised for where it comes from.
As Ugandan coffee continues to enter new markets, a strong national identity can make it easier for international buyers and consumers to recognise and understand coffee from Uganda.
It can help build familiarity with Uganda as an origin and create stronger associations between our country and the quality coffee we produce.
For businesses like KIMCO, this creates an exciting opportunity.
We can tell our own stories while contributing to a bigger national story.
We can build brands that celebrate our individual identities while still strengthening the reputation of Ugandan coffee as a whole.
A Brand That Creates Possibility
A national coffee brand is not the destination. It is a platform.
The real opportunity lies in what we do with it.
It is an opportunity to tell more compelling stories about Ugandan coffee. To help consumers understand where their coffee comes from. To create stronger relationships between producers and international markets. And to position Uganda not simply as a country that grows coffee, but as an origin with a distinctive identity and story.
At KIMCO Coffee, this is the kind of future we want to be part of.
We want to continue producing coffee that represents Uganda with pride while creating meaningful value for the farmers, communities, customers, and partners connected to our work.
Because building a stronger coffee industry is not only about producing more coffee.
It is about creating more value from the coffee we already have.
“Uganda has always had the coffee. Now, we have an even stronger story to tell the world.”
— Kintu Moses, Founder
Looking Ahead
The launch of Uganda Coffee – It’s in Our Nature marks an exciting moment for Uganda’s coffee industry.
But the next chapter belongs to all of us.
Farmers, processors, exporters, roasters, cafés, businesses, and consumers all have a role to play in shaping how Ugandan coffee is experienced and remembered around the world.
At KIMCO Coffee, we see this as an opportunity to keep doing what we do best: producing quality Ugandan coffee, building meaningful relationships, creating social impact, and helping tell the story of an origin we are proud to call home.
Uganda’s coffee story is already rich.
Now, we have a stronger way to tell it.
And the world is ready to listen
